His Tapestry of Grace
The Divine Thread That Holds All Things Together
Jesus Christ. Your Loved One. You.
Every relationship has visible strands.
You.
Someone you love.
The memories you share.
The choices you make.
The joys you celebrate.
The hardships you endure.
But woven through all of them is a deeper strand:
Jesus Christ.
At My 3 Strands, the purple cord represents Christ—the Divine thread who holds every relationship together.
The gold cord represents your loved one.
The white cord represents you.
Three strands.
Three lives in relationship.
One cord.
And at the center of it all is the One who gives the cord its strength.

The Purple Cord: Jesus Christ
The Divine Thread
Jesus is not simply one strand among equals.
He is the strand that gives the relationship its deepest strength, meaning, and direction.
The purple cord represents His presence.
His grace.
His mercy.
His faithfulness.
His love.
His promise to remain with us.
When relationships are strong, He is there.
When relationships are strained, He is there.
When life is joyful, He is there.
When grief comes, He is there.
When we do not know what to do next, He is there.
The Divine thread does not disappear when the other strands become tangled.
It remains.
The Gold Cord: Your Loved One
The Person God Has Woven Into Your Life
The gold cord represents the person whose life is connected with yours.
A spouse.
A fiancé or fiancée.
A child.
A parent.
A grandparent.
A friend.
A family member.
Someone who is still with you.
Or someone who has gone home to God.
Gold is fitting because every human life is precious.
Every person carries dignity.
Every person has a story.
Every person has been loved into being by God.
The gold strand reminds you:
This person matters.
Their life matters.
Their story matters.
Your relationship with them matters.
The White Cord: You
Your Life Is Part of the Weaving
The white cord represents you.
Your choices.
Your prayers.
Your love.
Your wounds.
Your hopes.
Your growth.
Your willingness to forgive.
Your willingness to remain open to God.
You are not a passive strand.
You participate in the weaving.
Every act of kindness adds something.
Every prayer adds something.
Every moment of patience adds something.
Every apology adds something.
Every act of courage adds something.
Every time you choose love over indifference, another thread is strengthened.
Your life matters because your strand is part of a larger design.
Three Strands, One Cord
The beauty of a cord is not that each strand disappears.
Each strand remains distinct.
Purple is still purple.
Gold is still gold.
White is still white.
Yet together they become stronger.
This is one of the central truths of My 3 Strands:
Relationship does not erase identity.
It gives identity a place to belong.
Jesus remains the Divine thread.
Your loved one remains uniquely themselves.
You remain uniquely you.
And when those three strands are woven together, the relationship becomes something none of the strands could create alone.
The Cord Is a Living Symbol
The My 3 Strands cord is more than a design element.
It tells a spiritual story.
Purple
Jesus Christ — the Divine thread
The One who holds all things together.
Gold
Your loved one
The person whose life has been woven into yours.
White
You
Your own life, faith, choices, prayers, and love.
Together they form a visible reminder:
Christ is present in the relationship.
Faith, Hope, and Love Flow Through the Strands
The cord also points to the three spiritual gifts that strengthen every relationship:
Faith. Hope. Love.
Faith helps you trust God and believe in the person beside you.
Hope helps you look beyond the present moment.
Love gives itself for the good of another.
These gifts move through the strands like life through a living cord.
They help hold relationships together through changing seasons.
Through joy.
Through disappointment.
Through beginnings.
Through endings.
Through closeness.
Through distance.
Through life.
And, in Christian hope, even through death.
Before the Dawn, Love Was Already Weaving
Before your first breath…
Before you knew your own name…
Before you knew the people who would one day matter most…
God was already present.
The larger Tapestry of Grace theme begins here:
Love was already weaving.
You did not create the first thread.
God did.
You did not design the whole pattern.
God sees it.
You only see one part at a time.
We See One Strand. God Sees the Tapestry.
Life can feel confusing because we usually experience it one moment at a time.
One relationship.
One decision.
One disappointment.
One joy.
One loss.
One prayer.
From our perspective, the strands can look tangled.
We may wonder:
Why did this happen?
Why did this person enter my life?
Why did this relationship change?
Why did someone leave?
Why did this season hurt so much?
But the image of the tapestry reminds us:
We see the underside.
God sees the finished design.
What looks tangled from where we stand may still have a place within a larger pattern of grace.
Some Threads Shimmer. Some Carry Tears.
Every tapestry contains contrast.
Bright strands.
Dark strands.
Unexpected turns.
So do our lives.
Some relationships bring great joy.
Some stretch us.
Some heal us.
Some expose places that still need healing.
Some last for decades.
Some last only for a season.
Some end in ways we never wanted.
Yet none of that means God has stopped weaving.
The Divine thread remains present through all of it.
The Thread That Does Not Break
Human relationships can change.
People move.
People grow.
People disagree.
People become distant.
People die.
But Christ remains.
That is why the purple strand is so important.
It represents the thread that does not depend on changing circumstances.
Jesus is the constant.
The anchor.
The One who remains when other parts of life shift.
The One who can hold what we no longer know how to hold.
The One who can redeem what seems broken.
The One who can continue weaving grace through the unfinished places.
When the Strands Become Tangled
Every relationship has moments when the strands feel tight, twisted, or confused.
Misunderstanding.
Anger.
Distance.
Fear.
Disappointment.
Loss.
The temptation is often to pull harder.
But pulling harder can tighten the knot.
Sometimes the better response is to return attention to the Divine thread.
Pray.
Listen.
Wait.
Ask for wisdom.
Ask for patience.
Ask for courage.
Ask for the grace to see the other person as God sees them.
The purple strand reminds us:
Christ is still present in the knot.
When a Loved One Dies
The gold strand may no longer be physically beside you.
But the relationship is not reduced to nothing.
The memories remain.
The love remains.
The influence remains.
The prayers remain.
And Christ remains.
In Christian hope, the purple strand continues to hold both lives within God.
The shape of the relationship changes.
But the Divine thread does not disappear.
This is why the Tapestry of Grace can extend naturally into the My 3 Strands for Eternity message:
Life does not end; it changes.
Every Relationship Adds Color
Think of all the people who have added color to your life.
Parents.
Children.
Friends.
Teachers.
Mentors.
Coworkers.
Neighbors.
Spouses.
Grandparents.
People who stayed.
People who came only for a season.
People who changed you.
People you helped change.
Every relationship adds something.
A color.
A texture.
A memory.
A lesson.
A wound.
A healing.
A gift.
Together, these become the tapestry of your life.
The Tapestry Is Larger Than One Relationship
My 3 Strands begins with one relationship.
You.
Someone you love.
Christ.
But the image grows.
Your relationship connects with another.
And another.
Families form.
Friendships form.
Communities form.
Generations overlap.
Soon, the cord becomes part of something much larger.
One relationship becomes part of a family.
One family becomes part of a community.
One community becomes part of humanity.
And all of it rests within God’s greater design.
Christ Is Woven Through Every Page

The relationship changes.
The Divine thread does not.
Hold the Cord. Remember the Relationship.
The three-color cord can become a simple prayer in your hand.
Touch the purple strand.
Remember:
Jesus Christ is here.
Touch the gold strand.
Remember:
This person is precious.
Touch the white strand.
Remember:
My life matters too.
Then hold all three together.
Remember:
We are held in grace.
That one simple action can turn the cord into a spiritual reminder of presence, gratitude, prayer, and relationship.
A Prayer of the Tapestry
Jesus, be the Divine thread in every relationship I treasure.
Hold my loved one and me within Your grace.
Strengthen us with faith, hope, and love.
When the strands are bright, help us give thanks.
When they are tangled, give us patience.
When they are broken, bring healing.
And when I can see only one thread,
help me trust the tapestry You are still weaving.
His Tapestry of Grace
Purple. Gold. White.
Jesus Christ. Your Loved One. You.
Three strands.
One cord.
One relationship.
One Divine thread holding all things together.
Jesus Christ is the purple strand.
Your loved one is the gold strand.
You are the white strand.
And faith, hope, and love are woven through all three.
Before the Dawn…
Before our names.
Before our first breath.
Before our first friendship.
Before our first love.
Before our first loss.
Love was already weaving.
And through every relationship…
Every season…
Every joy…
Every sorrow…
Every strand…
Christ is still weaving.
